History of the Residence

The house was originally the property of the Balsari family, pharmacists from the 17th century, who later opened their drugstore in Martiri Square.

The Balsari’s had a great passion for music: this is the reason why the house is decorated with musical instruments and books. Each apartment is a tribute to a famous Italian composer, to celebrate national cultural heritage.

The gardens: ancient roots

Antica Casa Balsari offers our guests the unique occasion to relax and connect with nature. In our private garden, you can walk amongst ancient camelias, aromatic herbs, azaleas, rhododendrons, olea fragrans and many other plants.

There’s a barbecue available and tables to eat in the open air.
There is also a space to hang out your laundry and a rustic building, used as a relaxation area.

Bikes are available for adults and children: perfect for your excursions into nature, from Ticino Natural Park to Bosco Solivo, in the woods.
